There is likely a party, wedding, or event in your life that you can pinpoint and think, "I wish I could go back to that night." For a lot of our couples, that is what they want for their event as a whole but specifically, they want their dance floor to be lively, chaotic, fun, a drunk fest, etc. Whatever the hope, most of the time it is something along the lines of: "We want everyone to have fun and the dance floor to be full!"
Creating a great setup for a dance floor to be a great time comes with a few key factors:
Hiring a great band or DJ
You (the couple) are on the dance floor too (maybe not the whole time, but a lot of the time, your guests will follow what you do)
Picking song choices that are well-known but not overplayed so that people want to be on the dance floor. Might we recommend ditching the YMCA and playing your favorite song that takes you back to a fraternity basement party with all your best friends?
So, once those factors are in place, now what? You don't necessarily have to add any of the elements below but we have noticed that when couples do, guests love it. It makes the dance floor more interactive and usually makes for great photos. So here are some recommendations of things to bring onto your dance floor to liven the mood:
Glow Sticks
Wearable props- Fun glasses, cowboy hats, feather boas
Disposable Cameras
Uplighting (Usually provided by the DJ or a lighting company)
